The term typical in actuality, refers to what might be deemed normal antler growth. That is, the buck will sport a single right and a single left beam with individual tines projecting upwards from them. Dropped tines, forked tines or any antler growth considered to be abnormal are viewed as non-typical.
There are several factors that affect antler growth. Three of the prime culprits that naturally dictate antler size and shape are genetics, nutrition and animal age.
