The Largest Member of the Deer Family
Canada Moose records are segregated into five categories - Archery, Crossbow, Black Powder,
All Time and Modern Firearm. Select a category from the panel above to find out about the highest
scoring entry.
Moose are usually found in wetland areas, small hidden valleys and travel open trails,
lake sides and mountain passes. Logging roads are a favourite hang-out for these
monsters as well. Moose like to wallow in mud holes and shallow bogs to cool off and
rid themselves of annoying insects. One bothersome Moose trait is their propensity to
cross highways in Ontario's north while giving no deference to automobiles.
Moose in Ontario are Canada Moose larger than a Shiras Moose found in Wyoming, Montana and
neighbouring states and they are small than the Alaska/Yukon Moose found in (guess where) Alaska
and the Yukon. The antlers of the Canada Moose tend to be slightly narrower with more defined
top tines.
